Children learn about faith, fellowship and God in KAMO. Parents, grandparents and other family members assist by planning and attending activities. Past fund includes winter swim parties at the YMCA, bowling, Easter egg hunts, gem mining, Vacation Bible School, outdoor play, Trunk-or-Treat, Christmas shoeboxes for impoverished children in Virginia, and a Christmas program. Plans for the 2018-2019 school year are forthcoming. Weekly activities include the youth music ensemble that rehearses each Wednesday during the school year from 6:00-6:45 p.m. in the Music Room.

The individual women’s circles of Mt. Olive participate in joint initiatives to study and serve the church, both locally and globally, through devotions, projects and plans that unite women of all ages and backgrounds. Past opportunities have included the World Day of Prayer, Have a Heart food drive for CCM, a baby shower for Jesus to benefit the Pregnancy Care Center, health kits and school kits for Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Family Services.
All Mt. Olive adults and friends are invited to meet the third Wednesday of each month, usually at 10:30 a.m. Also, once each year, they meet to plan activities. Past activities have included travelogues, local artists and speakers, attending theatrical performances, tours of Fort Defiance, Wing Haven, and Hickory Mill Winery. In the fall, an intramural volleyball league of local churches plays games on Tuesday evenings at Christ Lutheran Church in downtown Hickory.
Teams are co-ed with at least one female on the court at all times. Contact the church office for more information.
