    Action Ministry

    Tying and Tacking Ladies

    Mondays, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in Heritage Hall

We are quilters who meet weekly with the goal to provide warmth for the needy children of God wherever they are- locally, nationally or globally.

With God’s help we have provided over 5,000 quilts during our decades-long ministry. Mt. Olive graduates (high school and college) are presented a quilt that has been blessed at the time of graduation. LRU seniors that worship with us are also given a gift upon graduation as a remembrance of their time in our church family. This group is sponsored by the Women of the ELCA but membership is not required. Anyone is welcome to participate. If you love to quilt or want to learn how, come join us.

    Prayer Shawls

We invite crochet and knitting enthusiasts to join in the prayer shawl project. We work individually but occasionally have joint knitting sessions. You can work at home or join together in small groups to knit together. These shawls are given to folks in crisis and to new members. The shawls are collected and blessed by our pastor before being gifted. Materials and instructions are located in the air lock between the education building and the sanctuary.

    Flower Ministry

Brighten the day of some of our shut-ins and others by helping us to create small arrangements from donated altar flowers that have been designated to this ministry. If you have signed up for flowers, consider donating them to this ministry or assisting in preparing the arrangements on Sunday afternoons.
