This Sunday, December 6, John the Baptist proclaims “Prepare the way of the Lord.” December 6 is also the commemoration of St. Nicholas. Little is known about Nicholas, except that he was a bishop in present-day Turkey. According to legend, he was famous for his giving to the poor, and so has become a symbol of anonymous gift-giving. Are you ready for some anonymous gift-giving? Who might you share a gift with today? Will it be a gift of want or a gift of need? Will it be a gift that costs money to buy or time to make? Will it be a gift from the heart? God gives us the gift of need, time, and heart every day (!); and invites us to share those same gifts with someone else. I pray your Advent preparations and gift-giving plans are going well! In Jesus’ name, Pas+or Dave (John 3:16)

After caroling, we will come back to the church for dinner and our Christmas party. Each youth is asked to bring a gift for a gift exchange. Please place your gift (limit the gift to under $5) in a new pair of cute, decorative socks (total gift with socks should cost no more than $10.) The socks act as the gift wrapping. We will then do a gift exchange and play a few games if there is time. It will be a really fun time so please join us!! RSVP to Heather (needed for transportation) by Sunday morning.
