    Tuesday, November 10, 5:30-7:00 pm

    Heritage Hall, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Hickory

    Guest Speaker: Dr. Adina Gabor-Gagea, Psychologist, Broughton Hospital and Brian Hissom& Associates

    All-too-often, aging seems to have accompanying anxiety and depression, a result of specific health and medical conditions or the consequence of physical and social losses. Regardless, watching a loved one struggle with anxiety or depression is difficult, and often, we caregivers are at a loss as to how to best help.

    This ACAP program will help adult-child caregivers understand and differentiate between anxiety and depression, recognize the characteristics and potential causes, and offer tips for communicating with our parents and key professionals to effectively manage the conditions.  Specifically, this ACAP will assist participants in gaining an awareness of and knowledge about:

    1. The characteristics and potential causes of anxiety and depression as people age;
    2. Tips for recognizing anxiety and depression;
    3. Strategies for communicating with parents and key professionals in order to effectively and compassionately manage the conditions.

    Hope you’ll let us know to reserve a seat for you!
