This Week at Mt Olive
Good Afternoon everyone! My apologies for your message coming a little later in the day than usual. That is the way things go sometimes.
This Sunday is Christ the King Sunday, a day in which we celebrate that our Lord Jesus Christ is our King. We will have worship at 8:30a and 10:45a. At 9:45a we will be having our Annual Advent Fair. During the Advent Fair each family of Mt Olive will have the opportunity to decorate a box to use as their Reverse Advent Calendar. Instead of having an Advent calendar that gives you a piece of chocolate or another trinket, this project will have you place into your box an item to donate to those in need. We will gather all these boxes back on Dec 18 so the items may be distributed in time for Christmas. This is be a great way for us to remember that Christmas is a time for giving, not receiving. There will also be crafts at the Advent Fair. The youth are also reminded to bring 18 of one item to place in the college care packages they will be packing on Sunday.
We will be having our Thanksgiving Worship Service on Sunday night at 5:30p. Since the kids are out of school as of Tuesday, and with many people traveling on Wednesday or preparing for Thursday, we decided to move the service to Sunday. This will provide more people with the opportunity to attend this special service.
Confirmation will also be on Sunday at St Stephen’s ELCA from 3-5p for all our middle school students.
We hope you have a wonderful day and we will see you on Sunday!!
